More and more frequently, we are seeing Trader Joe’s role out brands exclusive to their establishment. Earth and Vine is yet another of these labels. From Trader Joe’s perspective, this makes a ton of sense. If the wines are great, they are the only person you can buy them from. Plus, since they are private label (to an extent), Trader Joe’s makes higher margins. The key to all this, however, is the wine being good, or at least drinkable. We decided to put this to the test with Earth and Vine Chardonnay.
This Chardonnay is a pale yellow color with a intensely vibrant floral aroma. From the first sip, I was surprised by how much I was enjoying this wine. My expectations were not high given my past experience with comparable wines from Trader Joe’s. However the Earth and Vine Chardonnay was shockingly complex with a nice balance of pear and fruit flavors with just the right amount of oak.
Trader Joe’s got it right with this one, and at only $8, you better believe that I will be buying the Earth and Vine Chardonnay again. I can eagerly recommend that you do the same.
