Review: Sara Bee Moscato

Sara Bee Moscato
Sara Bee Moscato is a light, sweet wine that you can grab at Trader Joe’s for $6. And that is exactly what I did the other day. I was standing there in the wine aisle when I asked myself, “why don’t I ever buy Moscato?” Given that I could not even come up with a halfway decent rationalization for my prior purchasing behavior, I decided to bite the bullet and pick up a bottle of the Sara Bee Sweet White Wine (aka Moscato). Since it was only $6, how bad of a choice could it be?

From the Puglia region of Italy, the Sara Bee Moscato has an aroma very comparable to a lot of the lighter sparkling wines with apple and honey being┬áthe most noticeable. It was very nice in that it was a lot lighter than some Moscato I have previously sampled, and it really was bubble forward which made me happy. I don’t understand lightly carbonated wines. Bubbles are good. Give me more of them.

Overall, I liked the Sara Bee Moscato, though a lot of it was because I was expecting something heavy and dense and instead I got a light, refreshing sparkling wine. I will gladly spend $6 on another bottle of this next time I’m at Trader Joe’s.
