Review: Bella Sera Pinot Grigio

Bella Sera Pinot Grigio

Bella Sera Pinot Grigio is an affordable $7 bottle of wine brought to us by the fine folks from E. & J. Gallo. As you may remember from some prior reviews here on Sourmashed, these guys seem to make half the bottles you can find in the supermarket. That is not necessarily a bad thing. With such scale, there will obviously be some misses, but there will definitely be some real winners as well. The Bella Sera brand focuses on wines from Italy appropriate for every day drinking. There goal is not that special occasion wine; instead they strive to be something you can have on any Tuesday night.

The Bella Sera Pinot Grigio comes through as a pretty standard Pinot Grigio. It is a very light wine with just a little bit of a fruity aroma. Even after letting it breathe, there is not a ton there. The flavor is a combination of apple and citrus and the finish is quite crisp.

On the whole, this is not a bad option for $7. If you are on a budget and looking to save a few bucks, I can recommend the Bella Sera Pinot Grigio. However, given the lightness of the wine, I would strongly recommend that you only pair it with similarly light dishes, like a nice piece of simple salmon, lest it become overwhelmed.
