Review: Copper Ridge Chardonnay

Copper Ridge Chardonnay

Copper Ridge Chardonnay is one of the most prevalent versions of Chardonnay that you can find in the US. Produced by the fine folks at Gallo, this California Chardonnay can be found at almost every mid range restaurant there is. House Chardonnay? There’s a good chance that it is coming out of a bottle of Copper Ridge. The best thing about this wine? If you want to enjoy a bottle of it at your house, you can usually buy it for around $5.

According to the folks behind Copper Ridge Chardonnay, it “showcases ripe tree fruit with notes of pineapple and mango … enhanced with notes of toasted oak and brown spice.” I wouldn’t go that far. In fact, I’d say that this was actually a little light on flavor. Not bad, just not a lot going on.

So should you go out and buy a bottle of Copper Ridge Chardonnay? Well, it is $5. For less than a burrito at Chipotle or a Miller Lite at the bar, you get an entirely drinkable bottle of wine. If that kind of thing matters to you, then Copper Ridge Chardonnay is the wine for you.
